Blossom Honey of Mount Athos
Only the blessed man, who had the chance to walk quietly in the small plains of Mount Athos, can tell about the feast of flowers that met on his way. In this land, two or three times a year, according to God’s will, an exceptional, aromatic honey is produced. Blossom honey is produced by the nectar of the flowers, which contain pollen grains of different plants and in varying proportions. Both its phycochemist, healing properties and its colour are depended on the plants’ nectar, which is taken in the beehive by the bees. Usually, no kind of pollen grain overcomes the limit that could give a pure character to this honey.
Blossom honey is the sweetest of all the other kinds of honey, in Greece. It has smooth taste and it is characterized by a balanced bouquet of flower aromas. It helps in the proper function of digestion and growing of children. It gives energy and resistance, regulates intestine’s function and enhances liver function.
