Carob Honey is produced from the carob trees of the Monastery of the Holy Archangels. It is a syrup that is extracted from the pods of the carob tree. It has a mild, sweet flavor and is used as an alternative sweetener by those who should not, or do not want, to consume sugar. Enjoy it in cookies, cakes, oatmeal, sesame seeds pulp (tahini), hot or cold drinks, yogurt, ice cream and risottos.
It is a highly nutritious food. It contains calcium even richer than milk (350 mg per 100 g), phosphorus, carbohydrates, vitamins A and B, proteins and many minerals. It is beneficial for osteoporosis and has the ability to soothe the stomach, helping at the same time in the proper bowel function.
