Saint Charalambos was an early Christian bishop in Magnesia on the Maeander, a region of Asia Minor, and he lived preaching and teaching the Christian faith. His name means glowing with joy in Greek. In 198 AD in a period of persecution, he was arrested and tortured horribly. His remains are being kept in the holy monastery of Saint Stephen of Meteora and in the homonymous monastery in Thespies of Boeotia. Saint Charalambos celebrates on 10 February.
