Saint Sabbas was a Cappadocian-Syrian monk and priest, lived mainly in Palaestina Prima. When he was 17 years old he received monastic tonsure. For the sainthood of his life he was twice sentenced as anarchist and he was sent to Constantinople. Saint Sabbas lived in obedience at this monastery until the age of thirty. He left the terrestrial life in 534 BC. Part of the blessed relic is nowadays located in the holy monastery of Vatopedi. Saint Savvas celebrates on December 5th.
