He was born in 1506 in Trikala, Korinthia, and was a son of the aristocratic family of Notarades. For 20 years, he wandered in Constantinople, Chalcedon, Jerusalem, and Mount Athos. Eventually, he will live in Kefalonia and built the “New Jerusalem” monastery. Saint Gerasimus of Kefalonia celebrates on August 16th.
