Saint Joseph the Hesychast was born in Leukes on Paros island in 1898 AD. He was born in a poor family and soon became an orphan, after his father died. At the age of 23, Saint Joseph went to Athens to work, but his passion for Orthodoxy guided him to monastic life on Mount Athos. He lived on Mount Athos until his death on 1959. Saint Joseph was recognized as a Saint on March of 2020. His memory is celebrated on the 16th of August.
