Saint Gabriel was born in August 1929 and came from Tbilisi, Georgia. His faith in the Lord was so deep that he knew the Gospel by heart at the age of 12. However, the saint lived in the time when communism prevailed in the country, which he opposed at every opportunity. Because of his faith, St. Gabriel was considered insane and he was locked up in a psychiatric clinic. He spent the last years of his life in the monastery of Mtskheta, where he died in 1995. His memory is honored on November 2.
