Saint Luke was born in 1877 on the Crimean Peninsula. He was a professor of anatomy and surgery at the University of Tashkent. At times they were persecuted, imprisoned, and exiled to Siberia for his Christian faith. Despite the hardships, the Saint treated many patients. Saint Luke of Crimea celebrates on 11 June.
