Hand painted icon of Saint Joseph, made in Mount Athos, on natural wood. The icon is delivered in a wooden box.
Saint Joseph was a descendant of King David and a carpenter by profession. He came from Bethlehem, but lived in Nazareth, where he married Virgin Mary. Joseph led the Virgin and the Holy Infant to Egypt, in order to protect them from the persecution of Herod. Joseph lived a few more years and died after the twelve-year-old Jesus went to the Temple. His memory is honored on the Sunday after the Birth of Jesus Christ or on December 26, if there is no Sunday until the end of December.
