Saint Antigone is one of the 40 Holy Virgins. These women lived in the time of King Likinius in the Adrianople of Thrace. The leader of the region arrested them as Christians and urged them to worship the idols. All of them were tortured and finally they martyred. Saint Antigone celebrates on September 1st.
