Handmade, wooden carved engolpion, carved in boxwood. The engolpion portrays the Holy Mandylion and is made in the Holy Skete of Saint Demetrios on Mount Athos.

The Sacred Mandylio is one of the lost heirlooms of the Orthodox Church. It is a piece of cloth, on which the image of the face of Jesus Christ was miraculously depicted. According to traditions, the King of Edessa Abgarus was cured by using the Mandylio.
