Smal,l handmade, wood carved engolpion with Saint Spyridon. It is sculptured on boxwood at the Holy Scete of Saint Demetrios in Mount Athos.

Saint Spyridon was born in 270 AD, in Cyprus from a wealthy family of shepherds. He took part in the first Ecumenical council and the miracles he has done are infinite. He is the Protector of Corfu, where his relics are kept. He slept on 12 December 350 AD, when his memory is celebrated.
