Small, handmade, wood carved engolpion with Archangel Michael. It is sculptured on boxwood at the Holy Scete of Saint Demetrios in Mount Athos.

The name of Archangel Michael means "who is alike to God" and is the only Archangel from the Bible. According to traditions, he is the one, who appears in the Old Testament from the beginning of the creation of the world and the one who, by the command of God, expelled Adam and Eve from Paradise.
