The ecclesiastical censer is one of the Holy Items of the Holy Chansel. The orthodox priest uses the censer to cense the Offertory, the faithful and the icons of the Saints. The censer is hanged from four chains, which symbolize the four Evangelists. These chains have twelve bells, each one for every Apostle.
The incense that comes from the censer has the ability to create a peaceful atmosphere, while, at the same time, symbolizes the prayer of the faithful that is spreading in order to reach God. Furthermore, the base of the censer symbolizes the abdomen of Virgin Mary, in which Jesus Christ existed as an infant.
