Saint Augustine, also called Aurelius, was born in Africa, in the year 354 AD by a Christian mother and a pagan father. As a young man he dissolute life and embraced Manichaeism. Later, he went to Rome, where he converted to Christianity, asked to be catechized and was baptized a Christian with his 15-year-old son. Augustine taught Christianity in Africa and later he became Bishop of Ippona. Saint Augustine died peacefully at the age of 76. His memory is commemorated on June 15.
