Hand carved encolpion on boxwood, which is inserted in a walnut wood frame made at the Holy Cell of the Presentation of Virgin Mary in Mount Athos. Saint Demetrios is surrounded by ancient-like decoration in accordance to the time he lived. His military garments are also in accordance to his time, while his cloak is rich in folds.
