Cistus Incanus Oil Made in the Holy Monastery of Pamegiston Taksiarxon
Monastic Cistus incanus oil based on the resin of aladania or Cistus Incanus plant by the Holy Archangels Monastery.
Cistus Incanus Properties: The cistus incanus (aladania, agkisaros in Greek ) is aromatic and medicinal plant. The resin of cistus is produced by glandular trichomes of the plant only under adverse (high) temperatures prevailing during the summer months. In the resin contained organic compounds called cistus incanus diterpenes, which according to studies exhibit antimicrobial and anti-aging properties thanks to their cytostatic activity (ie prevent cell proliferation and eventually prevent aging and tumor formation). Suitable for skin diseases, burns, healing wounds and rheumatic pains. Also use as face lotion thanks to the cytostatic activity (anti-wrinkle properties). Ideal for freckles.
The ancient Greek used cistus to make incense and ointments. Attributed to the herb antirheumatic, antiseptic astringent and healing properties while the fruit of the plant used to make beverage that stops diarrhea. The leaves of the cistus incanus have the highest content of polyphenols than any other plant in Europe, with stunning effect destruction of free radicals. In previus years some bakers put cistus in their oven to flavor the rusks. It is still one of the 40 components of the Holy Myron which made every 10 years in the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
