Our Church designated the 3rd Sunday of Lent to worship the Holy Cross of
the Lord, for the faithful to receive strength and continue their personal
struggle. The sanctifying power
of the Cross can bend the physical fatigue of fasting and the mental fatigue of
spiritual struggle. The Cross of the Lord is the most divine symbol of the Church and
at the same time has great moral significance for all believers. Each one carries his
own personal cross and walks with it in the unceasing struggle for salvation,
just as the Lord carried His own Cross on Calvary.
