The Great Martyr Procopius lived in Jerusalem during the persecution of Roman Emperor Diocletian. His mother was an idolater and she tried to persuade him to become a sacrifice to idols, but she understood that he had become a Christian and she betrayed him to the emperor. The Great Martyr Procopius was tortured and died in 303 AD. The Great Martyr Procopius celebrates on July 8th.
