Maximus the Confessor lived as an eminent citizen, occupying high and influential ranking positions in Constantinople. He joined the imperial administration from an early age, he became a monk in the Monastery of Chrysoupolis. He was a strong supporter of Christian faith and was exiled for that reason. Maximus the Confessor celebrates on January 21st.
