The name of Archangel Gabriel means "God is my strength". He is the one, who announced the message of the birth of Christ to Virgin Mary, while in the later years it is reported that he appeared to a monk on Mount Athos and carved "Axion Esti" on a marble slab in front of the icon of the Virgin Mary. Archangel Gabriel celebrates on November 8th.
The name of Archangel Michael means "who is alike to God" and is the only Archangel from the Bible. According to traditions, he is the one, who appears in the Old Testament from the beginning of the creation of the world and the one who, by the command of God, expelled Adam and Eve from Paradise.
