According to Elder Joseph of Vatopedi, a miraculous event occurred thanks to the holy icon of the Virgin Mary Pantanassa.
One day, a young man visited the Monastery and approached the icon of the Theotokos Pantanassa with the intention of worshiping. At that moment, a blinding light flashed from the icon and a divine force pushed him away, throwing him to the ground.
When the young man regained all his senses, he confessed with remorse that he had strayed from God and was involved in witchcraft. However, through the Divine Intervention of the Theotokos, he came to believe in God and became a christian.

It is worth noting that the holy icon of the Theotokos Pantanassa possesses a very significant characteristic. The holy icon of the Virgin Mary protects and heals those who suffer from the disease of cancer.
