The image of \'\'Joy of all\'\' was miraculously found in the village of Klotsky near St Petersburg, Russia, inside a small church. In the early 19th century the temple was destroyed by lightning, while the icon was miraculously saved. Then, in paradoxical way, the coins of the charity\'s broken box were stuck on the icon. Since then the icon has been doing miracles and benefiting the Russian people.
At the same time, the icon is also associated with the following miraculous event. In 1688 Euthymia, the sister of Patriarch Ioakeim (1674-1690), who lived in Moscow, suffered from incurable illness for a long time. One morning, during the pray, she heard a voice telling her \"Euthymia! Go to the Temple of My Son\'s Metamorphosis. There you will find a small image called \"The joy of all those who sorrow\". Tell the priest to make a sanctification and you will be cured\". Euthymia did as the voice of Theotokos told her and she was healed. This was done on October 24th, 1688. Each year, on October 24th, according to the old calendar followed by the Russian Orthodox, is celebrated the remembrance of the miracle that took place in St Petersburg in 1688 by the Virgin Mary.
