Saint Athanasius the Great was born in 295 AD. He was distinguished for his loyalty and his trust. He participated in the First Ecumenical council and at the age of 33 he was elected Patriarch of Alexandria. From this position he fought against the heretical teaching Arius and Arianism. He died in 373 AD. Saint Athanasius the Great celebrates on January 18th.
