Lithography of Saint Nicholas Stridas with gloss varnish on a hard MDF. The original is in the Monastery of Stayronikita on Mount Athos.
His holy hagiography is in the Monastery of Stauronikita. Perhaps the picture was thrown into the sea by Catalan pirates in 1306. When it was found, in 1859, there was an eight-centimeter slit on the forehead of the saint, on which an oyster lived. Thus, the image was taken with the prefix "Saint Nicholas the Stridas or Astridas".
