Hand painted icon of Saint Apollonia, made in Mount Athos, on natural wood. The icon is delivered in a wooden box.
Saint Apollonia was martyred in Alexandria shortly before the persecution of Christians broke out when Decius (248 – 249 AD) was emperor. The Saint suffered horrible tortures, including the forcible extraction of her teeth. For this reason, Saint Apollonia is considered the patron saint of those suffering from toothaches and dentists, along with Saint Antipas (April 11). Her memory is commemorated on October 30.
