The liturgical office of Jesus Christ is discussed in the writings of the Evangelist John and in the Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Hebrews. The liturgical office of Christ constitutes the core of His redemptive work, as He offered the ultimate sacrifice for the salvation of humanity. Jesus Christ, being the perfect and sinless High Priest, sacrificed Himself on the Cross as a victim of expiation  for the sins of all people. His sacrifice was unique and unparalleled, satisfying divine justice and saving humanity from eternal condemnation. As the Great High Priest, Jesus lives forever and intercedes with the Father for our salvation.
