WHO IS GOD?
WHAT IS THE TRUE FAITH?
The true faith is belief in the one God in Trinity, the Creator of Heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. God is a Being, without beginning or end. God is Spirit (John 4:24), who is omnipresent, all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful, and caring for all things. God is full of love for all people and all creation.
WHO IS GOD?
The true faith, the Orthodox Christian faith, reveals to us and proclaims the great mystery that God is not only one but also Triune. God is the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These are not three gods but one God, because the Three Divine Persons share the same essence, as well as one love, one wisdom, one life, and the infinite richness of God's eternal powers and energies.
It is in the name of this one God that we are baptized. We profess our faith in the one God- the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit-every time we make the sign of the holy Cross. When we cross ourselves, we bring together three fingers of the right hand to signify that the indivisible Trinity is-one God.
WHAT IS GOD LIKE?
God is Love-selfless Love. Even before the creation of the World, God the Father was not alone (as taught by Jewish and Muslim religious leaders); rather, He loved the Son and the Holy Spirit. Likewise, the Son loved the Father and the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit loved the Father and the Son.
