Short life of Saint Parthenius 

Saint Parthenius was born in Vatsounia, Karditsa, into a humble and simple family during the years of Ottoman rule in Greece. From an early age, he was raised in an atmosphere of faith, work, and reverence for God, influenced both by the local parish priest and the monasteries of the Agrafa mountains, which at the time served as important spiritual centers for the local population. As he grew older, he chose the path of monastic life. In the monastery, he lived with ascetic discipline, prayer, and humility. Even the simplest obediences, such as caring for animals, became for him a means of spiritual growth and inner cultivation.

This way of life eventually led him to the priesthood, and later he was elevated to the rank of Bishop of Radosivion. As a bishop, he remained close to the people, supporting the poor and providing spiritual guidance to his flock during difficult times. His ministry combined both pastoral care and social concern, while tradition also associates him with acts of humility and practical love toward others. The accounts of his death vary in the tradition, but all emphasize the image of a hierarch who lived with simplicity, devotion, and selfless offering to God and humanity. The Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Parthenius each year on 7 February.
