The icon is richly decorated with embossed Byzantine designs composed of a special, durable metal alloy, impregnated with pure silver 999. The special treatment with the PVD method, as well as the excellent quality silkscreen printing according to the standards of Byzantine iconography, create the final result of the icon that remains unchanged over time. The icons of this series can be hung on the wall with the hook they have.
The name of Virgin Mary comes from the anthem of the compline, the Night Prayer, "Spotless, Uncorrupted, Untainted..." composed by the monk Pavlos of the monastery of Evergetos. The original template of the icon is attributed to the Icon painter of the 15th century, Andreas Ritzos, whose works are presented in Italy and Patmos. The icon is displayed in the Byzantine Museum of Athens. More about Virgin of the Passion.
