Hand Carved Wooden Blessing Cross

Excellent detailed handmade blessing Cross by boxwood, made in the Holy Monastery of Assumption on Mount Athos. On the front side, is the Crucifix in Byzantine type, framed with a wreath (circle). In the four hollow triangles, there are respectively four "medals". The two upper bear angels praying, while the two lower bear Theotokos and Saint John the Evangelist praying to Jesus. On the backside is decorated with crosses and the symbols ΙΣ ΧΡ ΝΙ ΚΑ. Finally, the thin handle of the cross has decoration from walnut tree.
