Saint Eftichios was born in the year 512 AD, during the time of Emperor Justinian I the Great. In 552 he was elected Patriarch of Constantinople, but some years later, he was expelled from the Patriarchal throne and exiled. After twelve years of exile, Emperor Justin II, in 577 AD, restored with honor and glory Saint Eftichios to the patriarchal throne. Saint Eftichios celebrates on April 6th.
