Saint Seraphim of Sarov

Silver-plated icon with Saint Seraphim of Sarov in an oval shape. The theme of the Christian icon is captured with great clarity and rich detail that covers the entire surface. Saint Seraphim of Sarov was born in Kursk, Russia in 1759. At a young age he went to the Sarov desert to live an ascetic life. He was ordained a deacon and later a priest. He became known for his spiritual admonitions and miracles. Saint Seraphim of Sarov celebrates on January 2nd.
