Orthodox Blessing Cross Handmade on Mount Athos

Handmade wooden blessing cross made of pear wood in the Holy Cell of the Dormition of Theotokos on Mount Athos. The cross is double-sided and on one side depicts the Baptism of the Lord with Jesus Christ in the Jordan River, Saint John the Forerunner and Baptist and an angel of the Lord. The scene of the baptism is framed by the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. On the other side, it presents in relief the Crucifixion of the Lord with elaborate details. A unique Athonite handiwork, of exceptional detail, made with patience and faith by the fathers in the Garden of the Virgin Mary.
