The cross is double-sided with two representations. On one side, the Crucified Jesus Christ is depicted on the Cross of Martyrdom, in a rich background decoration. On the other side, the Baptism of the Lord in the Jordan River by Saint John the Baptist, an angel of the Lord and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove are depicted.
This unique cross is adorned with elaborate filigree designs that form tulips, the characteristic flower of Constantinople. On the tulip flowers there are semi-precious stones in blue and red color that end in pearls.
